Overview

There are infinite possibilities for adventure in Nepal outside of trekking. Even within the Kathmandu Valley, there are so many fun opportunities that people miss out on because most of their time is spent in the mountain. With our Kathmandu Valley Tour package, you will realize that even a week of exploring the area does not scratch the surface of the amazing things you can do here. The Kathmandu Valley is at a crossroads of ancient Asian civilizations, rich in cultural diversity. Kathmandu itself has hundreds of religious monuments and several UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Kathmandu Valley Tour is a full package deal that takes you to the mountains, the villages, the cultural heritage sites, and everything in between! The tour gives you a meaningful and memorable experience in Nepal. It is guided by an expert with insider knowledge about each place. So, come check it out! We guarantee a smile on your face and a good time.

Our Kathmandu Valley Tour kicks off with visits to several of these World Heritage sites. Pashupatinath Temple is the most famous Hindu temple in Nepal, located on the banks of the Bagmati River.  You’ll see sadhus (holy ascetics) hanging out, while pilgrims from all over Nepal and India wander around. Next to the Bagmati River are burning funeral pyres, a burial ceremony for Hindus. Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest Buddhist shrines in the world.  You’ll see monks and Buddhist devotees from all parts circumnavigating the stupa. Boudhanath has a quiet, peaceful vibe which is sometimes difficult to find in Kathmandu Valley. Swayambhunath Temple, also known as Monkey Temple, is one of the oldest religious sites in Nepal at nearly 1,500 years old. It is rich in Buddhist symbolism and offers an awesome panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley, with the Langtang range beyond the city. Finally, still on the first day of Kathmandu Valley Tour, we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, an ancient palace of a former Newari Kingdom. Still living within the palace is the Kumari, the living Goddess, who may make an appearance during our visit.

The following day, we visit Patan and its surroundings.  Patan is another ancient Newari Kingdom, technically located outside of Kathmandu Valley. The beautiful architecture, consisting of beautiful brick buildings and ornate wood carvings, is extremely impressive.

Each day you gain an incredible amount of knowledge about the history, culture, and religion of our country.  We move to Pharping, exploring its surrounding areas. Pharping is a place of significance for Buddhists and is identified as the place where Guru Padmasambhava attained enlightenment. The same day, we visit Dakshinkali Temple, where Hindu devotees come to make a sacrifice to the goddess Kali.

A memorable Mountain Flight to Everest Region the following morning gives us spectacular views of the Himalayas that no trekker can witness. We get a bird’s eye view of some of the tallest mountains in the world. Next up, Bhaktapur, our third and last ancient the Newari Kingdom. That night, we stay in Nagarkot, a gorgeous town in the foothills of the mountains. Wake up with a stunning view of Everest and other peaks.  Though I’ve only listed about the places you’ll visit, the experience you will have on the Kathmandu Valley Tour with us cannot be put into words. You’ll have to find out for yourself! Come see the many treasures of the Kathmandu Valley.
