How difficult is Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek?
Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek is considered moderate-challenging mainly due to the high altitude and the big crossing of Thorong La Pass (5,416m/17,769ft). The trail is generally well-established and follows good walking paths through villages and alpine landscapes. However, as you gain altitude day by day, from around 2,650m at Chame to 4,540m at Thorong Phedi, and finally 5,416m at Thorong La Pas. The trek becomes physically demanding, and altitude can make simple walking feel a little adventurous.
Please be prepared to walk for 6–7 hours per day on average. Also train for carrying your daypack with valuables, water, extra layers, snacks, and personal items. On the pass day, you should expect a longer day of around 8–9 hours of walking. The trek is graded moderate-challenging because it reaches above 5,000m. It includes a high pass crossing, where weather and wind can also add difficulty. However, the itinerary is very well designed with proper acclimatization, shorter and well-paced trekking days, and a strong focus on safety. In addition, Breeze Adventure provides sufficient oxygen tanks for your security in high-altitude sections. With these measures in place, you can enjoy the Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek with full confidence, comfort, and peace of mind. On this trip your safety and well-being are always our top priority.
Do I need previous experience to take part?
No previous high-altitude trekking experience is required! However, you should be moderately fit, enjoy walking, and be adaptable to mountain conditions. Prior hiking experience is definitely helpful, but it is not mandatory. The itinerary includes a proper acclimatization day in Manang, and we follow a gradual ascent approach to support safe altitude adaptation.
All travelers should be in good physical health to participate fully on this trip. We strongly recommend preparing for at least 8–12 weeks before your trek date. You should do regular exercises such as hiking, stair climbing, running, cycling, or gym training. The fitter you are, the more comfortable and enjoyable you will find the trek—especially on the days above Manang and on the Thorong La Pass crossing.
How do I train for the Luxury ACT trek?
Training for the Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek is about building endurance, leg strength, and consistency. The key challenge is not technical climbing. It is just walking for multiple days in a row while gaining altitude, and keeping your energy steady for the high pass day.
We recommend:
Cardio training 3–4 times per week (walking uphill, hiking, jogging, cycling, swimming)
Stair training with a light backpack (start easy and increase gradually)
Leg and core strength (squats, lunges, step-ups, planks)
Long walks/hikes on weekends (increase duration slowly)
Always consult your doctor first to confirm you are healthy enough for multi-day trekking at high elevation. If you have access, working with a trainer can help build a simple, consistent plan. The better prepared you are, the more you will enjoy the views, the villages, and the overall comfort of the luxury service.
Are meals included?
Yes. All meals are included during the trekking portion of the trip. We provide three meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) while on the trek, along with hot beverages (tea, coffee, ginger tea, lemon tea). Also, fresh fruits served daily at breakfast or dinner as per the trip inclusions.
The menus in teahouses and lodges are varied, ranging from traditional Nepalese dal bhat, soups, noodles, momo (dumplings), fried rice, pasta, pancakes, and seasonal options depending on the location. Breakfast and dinner are served at the lodge where you stay, and lunch will be along the way.
Despite meat being available in lower places, we generally recommend avoiding meat at higher elevations. It is often transported from lower areas and may increase the risk of stomach upset. If you have any dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies), please inform us in advance so we can coordinate with our team. For gluten-free diets, we recommend carrying a few backup snacks for breakfast days, as options can be limited in the high mountains.
In Kathmandu, breakfast at the hotel is included. Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu are not included (except the farewell dinner).
Accommodation in Kathmandu and on trek?
5-star Hotel: 2 Nights | Luxury/Comfort Lodges: 6 Nights | Basic Teahouse: 1 Night
Kathmandu:
In Kathmandu, we stay at Kathmandu Marriott Hotel (or similar category). Marriott offers modern 5-star service, excellent amenities, and a comfortable base before and after the trek. Breakfast is included. Accommodation is based on twin-sharing, and single rooms are available upon request as per the pricing structure.
On Trek:
This is a luxury-focused Annapurna Circuit, and we select the best available lodges along the route. According to the itinerary, your trek accommodations include:
Chame: Comfortable lodge with attached bathroom and hot shower in room
Upper Pisang: Lodge with basic attached bathroom (hot shower generally outside)
Ngawal: Lodge with attached bathroom (hot shower outside)
Manang (2 nights): Comfortable lodge with attached bathroom and hot shower in room
Yak Kharka: Comfort lodge with attached bathroom and hot shower in room (note: not as luxury as Manang)
Thorong Phedi: Basic lodge (limited options) with outside toilet and shower
Jomsom: Comfortable lodge with attached bathroom and hot shower in room
Because the Annapurna Circuit is remote and protected, true “luxury hotels” are not possible everywhere. However, our focus is to provide the best available standard and most comfortable options in each location.
Single Supplement
A single supplement applies if you would like a private room instead of sharing. For the group costing in your itinerary, the single-room price will be provided separately (shared vs single). Please note that in remote villages and in peak season, private rooms can be limited. Even if you are willing to pay extra. Because lodge availability is small and priority is often given to maximizing room use.

Sustainability on the Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek
Luxury trekking also supports responsible travel in the Annapurna region. Many lodges use solar power, offer eco-friendly toiletries, and follow waste management practices. Refillable water bottles and “leave no trace” policies help keep trails clean.
Local guides and porters are paid fairly, and many trips contribute to village schools and health posts. This means your trek supports both the environment and local communities while you enjoy higher comfort on the trail.
Will I need travel insurance?
Yes! Nepal Travel insurance is mandatory and highly recommended. Your insurance should cover:
- High-altitude trekking up to 5,416m (Thorong La Pass)
- Emergency medical treatment
- Helicopter evacuation (if needed)
Please review your policy carefully and carry proof of insurance during the trip.

You may bring a reusable bottle or thermos. Hot water and boiled water are available in lodges, and our guide can help with refills during meal times. Bottled water is available along the route but becomes more expensive as altitude increases.
Typical day on trek?
Most days begin with wake-up calls between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, depending on the walking hours for that day. Have breakfast with an amazing view of the sunrise on the mountain. After breakfast, you will start trekking at a comfortable pace. After 3–4 hours, we stop for lunch along the trail. The afternoon walk is usually shorter, and we typically arrive at the destination in time for rest, tea, and exploration.
In the evening, we enjoy dinner together in the lodge dining area. Your guide will brief you about the next day’s plan. He will let you know walking time, altitude, and you’ll have time to relax and sleep early—especially before the Thorong La Pass day.

This allows your body to adapt naturally, reduces fatigue, and ensures a smoother, safer, and more enjoyable Luxury Annapurna Circuit trekking experience.
Acclimatization Day in Manang
The acclimatization day in Manang plays a vital role in your safety and success. You will hike to a higher viewpoint and return to sleep lower, helping your body adjust to altitude. This extra day greatly reduces the risk of altitude sickness and increases your comfort on higher sections.
Gradual Altitude Gain

- Weather-based decision making
- Safety-first operations
Flights are always subject to weather conditions, especially in the mountains. If weather is not suitable, flights may be delayed or rescheduled for safety reasons. Your safety always comes first.
Please note that in rare cases of emergency evacuation or major weather disruptions, the specific helicopter used may be arranged by rescue coordination services, and may be outside our regular partners.
Trekking Gears for Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek
Trekking gear is the key to a successful, safe, and comfortable Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek. The type of gear you need may vary depending on the season and weather conditions. If you plan to buy your equipment in Nepal, it is possible to find good-quality branded gear at reasonable prices in Kathmandu. However, we strongly recommend using your new trekking boots at least one to two months in advance. Packing the right gear helps you complete the trek without problems. If you are unsure, please check our packing list carefully or feel free to contact us for further guidance.
Baggage and Packing
Each participant will receive a Breeze Adventure duffel bag for packing trekking gear. Please keep the duffel bag weight within the porter limit (generally 15–20 kg per person). You will carry a personal daypack with essentials such as water, camera, sunscreen, rain gear, valuables, and snacks. We recommend keeping your daypack under 5 kg for comfort.
Any extra luggage or items not needed during the trek can be safely stored at your hotel in Kathmandu.
For helicopter and domestic flights, baggage allowances apply, and we will guide you in advance to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Domestic Flights (Pokhara – Jomsom – Pokhara / Pokhara – Kathmandu)
For the Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek, we use domestic flights between Pokhara and Jomsom, and between Pokhara and Kathmandu, to save time and add comfort to your journey. The flight between Pokhara and Jomsom takes around 20–25 minutes and offers stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, deep valleys, and rugged Himalayan landscapes. Airlines such as Tara Air, and Summit Air usually operate these routes with small aircraft suited for mountain airstrips.
The Jomsom flight is an adventurous experience, as the airport lies in a windy Himalayan valley. Because of mountain weather conditions, delays or cancellations can happen, especially in the monsoon or during strong winds. For this reason, we always recommend keeping buffer days in your itinerary. If flights are delayed, we manage the best possible alternatives, including adjusting schedules or using overland transport where feasible.
During peak seasons, flights may operate only in the early morning due to wind conditions later in the day. Our team plans the schedule carefully to maximize your chances of flying smoothly and on time.
Helicopter Rescue
If you face a serious medical issue or get stuck due to weather or altitude-related problems, helicopter rescue is available from the Annapurna region, including areas around Jomsom and Manang. The approximate cost is USD 4,800–5,000 per flight, and a helicopter can usually carry up to 4 people, depending on conditions. We strongly recommend having proper travel insurance that covers high-altitude helicopter evacuation.
Alternative Options in Case of Flight Disruption
If the Jomsom or Pokhara flights are canceled for an extended period due to weather, we can rearrange the itinerary using road transport or adjust the trekking plan within the Annapurna region. Our goal is always to keep your holiday smooth, safe, and enjoyable.
No Refund Policy
Please note that no refunds are provided for unused services included in the package, such as hotels, transportation, flights, or permits. However, our focus is always on delivering high-quality service, experienced guides, and the best possible experience on the Luxury Annapurna Circuit Trek, even if plans need to be adjusted due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
