Float down the exhilarating, holy waters of the Kali Gandaki River. The Kali Gandaki offers some of the best whitewater rafting in the country. Taking its name from the goddess Kali, the river flows all the way through Nepal, eventually flowing into the Ganges River. The rapids get up to Class III and IV with its steep drops and massive waves.

The Kali Gandaki River gorge is famous for being the deepest in the world. Notice the humungous walls on each side of you as you fly down the rapids. The deep canyon walls give way to rolling hills, with the Himalayan mountains looming in the background. These rapids are some of the most challenging (“fun” to some) in Nepal. If you want a multiple-day, adrenaline-pumping journey on a raft, the Kali Gandaki River Rafting is the right choice!

From Kathmandu, we drive on the Prithvi Highway for about 6-7 hours to reach Pokhara. The drive itself Is beautiful. The road carves over and around rolling hills. Enjoy the scenery of small villages, terraced hillsides, and lovely rivers throughout the drive. Arriving in Pokhara around midday, take the rest of the day to wander around the lakeside or do some sightseeing. Check out the Peace Pagoda, David Falls, Begnas Lake, or anything else that piques your interest.

The next day, we set off for Modikhola and dropped in the river. For the next few days, the river is our home. After five to six hours of rafting each day, we find a nice spot on the shore to pitch our tent. Our chef whips us up a tasty dinner as we hang out and watch the sunset. There are few better feelings than watching the stars come out over the Himalayas.  Sleeping in a tent near the foot of these mountains is another bonus.

After the two nights and three days of rafting, we take you back to Kathmandu (or Pokhara) for your onward destination.

Do note that there are numerous ways to extend this adventure. Combine our rafting trip with paragliding, bungee jumping, jungle safari, and/or a trek. Let us know your interests and we will manage the perfect combination package for you!

To participate in Kali Gandaki River Rafting, you should be able to swim proficiently and previous whitewater rafting experience is recommended though not required. Rafting can be done all throughout the year. Even during monsoon season, the rains bring even more thrilling rapids. Breeze Adventure arranges the rafting excursion with complete management. Please, feel free to contact us for more detailed information.

The package begins and ends from Kathmandu. However, we can arrange to transport you from Pokhara to the river and back, just let us know!
